OOW 2012 – User Group Sessions Day

After sleeping 3 hours, we have successfully found our car somewhere and left it to rental company and it is time for Oracle Open World 2012 to start.

OOW2012 is starting

Here is today’s sessions I’ve joined;

  • UGF10417-No-Surprises Development and Environment Management (Moscone West – 2009)

Kellyn Pot’Vin – Sr. Technical Consultant, Enkitec ACE
Stewart Bryson – US Managing Director, Rittman Mead America, Inc.
Various programming disciplines have taken advantage of collaborative development, agile methods, and rapid feedback to achieve quality code faster. The ability to constantly build and deploy code into identical environments assists in this capability. This session discusses techniques that enable high levels of visibility and traceability for developing database code and schema objects. It also covers the value of constant environmental comparisons between developer copies, central development databases, and integration environments that can reduce potential deployment problems.

  • UGF10368-Oracle Endeca Information Discovery for Oracle Business Intelligence/Data Warhouse Developers (Moscone West – 2006)

Mark Rittman – Technical Director, Rittman Mead Consulting Ltd

Oracle Endeca Information Discovery is a new Oracle Fusion Middleware product that helps you analyze unstructured, semistructured, and structured data sets from disparate datasources with little up-front data modeling. This session, for Oracle BI/data warehouse developers, develops an Oracle Endeca Information Discovery application from data sourced in Oracle Endeca Information Discovery’s Integrator feature to dashboards and shows how disparate jagged datasources are loaded and integrated in Oracle Endeca Server. With this data, the session involves building a hybrid search/analysis application with Oracle Endeca Information Discovery’s Studio feature and shows how such applications complement and extend the traditional relational and OLAP-based Oracle Business Intelligence dashboards.

I have mostly visited ODTUG (Oracle Development Tools User Group) fellows, because they pay lots of attention to me.

OOW2012 ODTUG Fellows
> Mike > Monthy > Me > Lauren

The go to hotel to have some rest and go to St. Francis Yachting Club for Annual ACE Dinner. This is my first time of 9th annual dinner and it was amazing. I’ve seen Cameron Lackpour and talked about the “currently secret thing” that we are still working on under ODTUG events. Chatting with him was quite fun and knowledge sharing. I don’t know when learning something will end. Actually never.!

I’ve sit with EPM and Hyperion guys and everybody thought was I am dealing with EPM. No way, still on the hunt to improve ODI in every use.
At the dinner, I’ve learnt that Oracle Database 12c and Exadata Machine v3 is announced via Twitter. I was waiting for the announcement since I have already knew them and know more (still secret) during the product briefings. While returning, I’ve sit with Kent Graziano and talked about data modeling and talked about Bill Inmon, Ralph Kimball and Jonathan Geiger.

Before ACE Dinner - amazing sightseeing

And this is the last picture that I share, just before dinner. Golden Gate Bridge, from  St. Francis Yachting Club’s shoreline.
